Plot:
After Dixon detonates the bomb in the Badenweiler building (killing the CIA agents inside), Sydney is very upset and shocked. They are able to escape, but Sydney was obviously traumatized by the event. She tells Vaughn she wants to bring Dixon into the CIA and tell him the truth, but Vaughn convinces her that Dixon’s life and family would be put in danger if she did.

At SD-6, Sydney learns that her father has been transferred to work alongside her. However, her suspicions of his loyalty lead her to visit the widow of agent Calder, the FBI agent who was investigating Jack. Sydney recognizes Calder as being the other person who died with her mother, leading Sydney to form the belief that Jack’s activities inadvertently led to the death of her mother.

Sloane begins to believe that there is a mole in his system when Marshall discovers the leak off the SD-6 database to the CIA, fortunately untraceable but suspicious nonetheless.

Francie faces Charlie with her doubts about his infidelity, and he confides in her that he was not cheating with her, but instead meeting with a girl with whom he plans to make a band and pursue his secret dream of singing. Francie is relieved, but fears he will embarrass himself, since she has never even heard him hum. But her worries are eventually assuaged when later on at a club he sings a debut performance... beautifully.

Will continues investigating Kate Jones, and discovers her real identity. He goes to her apartment to confront her, but she pepper-sprays him and refuses to see him. Later on, she calls up to confide that she was paid to impersonate Kate Jones, but when Will arrives at her apartment for details, the place is empty.

Vaughn is assigned to attend the funeral of the agents who died in Badenweiler, an order which hits ‘close-to-home’, since his own father died in the line of duty working for the CIA (a fact he recently admitted to Sydney). He, like those who attended his father’s funeral, was instructed to show no emotion, but the experience clearly shakes him.

Sydney and Dixon are sent on a mission to recover a genetically-engineered and highly sophisticated encoder device made by FTL and in the possession of a man named Smythe, who also owns a London photo gallery. Dixon impersonates a wealthy buyer, distracting Smythe and giving Sydney a chance to get to his highly-secure office. After a very dangerous and tense sequence, Sydney is able to recover the device and plant a bug for the CIA.

Back at SD-6, Marshall discovers the device is activated with the DNA of a single person--a deceased FTL agent named Gareth Parkashoff. The location of his grave is known only to his assassin, a man named Martin Shepard, who is currently in a mental institution in Romania. Sydney and another SD-6 operative named Agent Fisher are sent there--Sydney acting as a patient and Fisher the doctor committing her. Sydney’s mission is to get the coordinates of the body by approaching Shepard and reciting a poem--a poem which acts like a ‘key’ in the assassin’s unbalanced memory.

In the asylum, Sydney tries to find out the location of Parkashoff’s body, but Shepard is violently resisting to her efforts and wants nothing to do with her. And after her admittance, the CIA discovers that the asylum is being run by a K-Directorate agent named Kreshnik, putting Sydney in great danger. In the last few moments, Sydney finds the murdered body of Agent Fisher, his throat cruelly slashed. The mission has clearly gone terribly wrong...

-Vaughn: A Bug.
-Sydney: What are you, twelve years old?

2. -Vaughn: Behind it is a marble wall with stars carved in it. It's a memorial to the agents the company lost in action. Families are never told how they died, or even where. Only that they won't be coming home. I was eight when my father became one of those stars.

3. -Sydney (French accent): Cherie, I think I prefer the Lamborghini.
-Dixon: You are the birthday girl. (Hands Smythe used cigar) Could you do something with this?

4. -Sydney: Raid my closet!
