Gina Torres
Gina Torres was born in 1969 in New York City, and was the youngest of three children in a Cuban-American family. She is a mezzo soprano who was trained in opera and jazz singing and sang in a gospel choir. Before Alias, she appeared in the short live TV series Cleopatra 2525 and appeared in several episodes of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, and played two different characters in two different episodes of Law and Order (one in season 3 and one in season 5). In the Autumn of 2002, she will appear in Firefly, a 'space western' by Buffy creator Joss Whedon.
