Blockbuster Preview: Catch Me If You Can

The Pitch: Seventeen year-old con artist Frank Abagnale Jr. (Leonardo Di Caprio), the youngest man ever to be on the FBI's most wanted list, poses as doctor, lawyer and co-pilot in the name of fun and money. Fed. Agent Carl Hanratty (Tom Hanks) is hot on his trail.

The Spin: returning to the here and now after back-to-back sci-fi adventures, Steven Spielberg's second movie in 2002 promises taut tension on a more human scale. With little in the way of spectacle to fall back on (despite mucho location-hopping across the USA), Spielberg has assembled a great cast- Christopher Walken (as Frank Abagnale Sr., DiCaprio's Dad), Martin Sheen, and Alias' Jennifer Garner (as a classy call girl who catches Leo's eye) to -support the heavyweight pairing of Dicaprio and Hanks, who reputedly don't share screen time until the very end.

The Bottom Line: The release date Stateside has gone back from November 27 to December 25- which looks like a sure sign of Oscar confidence.
