Plot: In the beginning of this episode, we watch as the familiar bodyguard finds
Sydney watching Patel’s operation from the roof. After his attempt at torture,
Sydney escapes, but is knocked unconscious. When she awakens, she reaches Dixon
and tells him what she saw. Sydney and Dixon are able to steal an ambulance and
kidnap Patel to remove the bomb. While being chased by Jacqnoud, Sydney
frantically drives the ambulance while Dixon carefully withdraws the bomb. Just
as Jacqnoud detonates the bomb, Dixon throws it at the car, eliminating Jacqnoud
and ending the chase.
Back in L.A., Vaughn has copied Jack Bristow’s case file and gives it to Sydney,
who he knows has questions about her father. Just as Sydney is about to read it
(at her school campus), Francie approaches. They make plans to have a Halloween
party at Sydney’s apartment.
Sydney and Dixon’s next op deals with granting safe passage to the U.S. for
Jeroen Schiller, a scientist with information on an important vaccine. For the
countermission, Vaughn introduces Sydney to Paul Kelvin, chosen to switch places
with and impersonate Schiller so the CIA can help the real Schiller to safety.
In Berlin, Sydney and Dixon download Schiller’s files onto the web and help him
to saftely escape from his company building. Agent Kelvin, in disguise as
Schiller, is able to deftly switch places with a confused Schiller without
Dixon’s knowledge. Schiller returns to L.A. with the CIA team while Kelvin
doubles as the SD-6 captive.
Meanwhile, Will is helping Francie prepare for the Halloween party. He confides
in her that he is investigating Danny’s death: why he was headed to Hong Kong
with a woman named Kate Jones when he should’ve been meeting Sydney in Singapore
and why neither Danny nor Kate Jones made the flight.
Later, Will contacts and questions Kate Jones, who admits to having an affair
with Danny. But Will has been researching, and tells her of his latest
discovery: Kate Jones died in 1973. ‘Kate Jones’ then abruptly ends the
meeting.
Sloane becomes suspicious of Sydney when he learns that on her mission she
switched rendezvous locations with Dixon (so she could switch Schiller and
Kelvin). Sloane questions Dixon about Sydney’s trustworthiness, and Dixon
steadfastly holds that Sydney is very loyal. But Sloane is still uneasy.
Back at SD-6, Sloane questions the imposter Schiller. Kelvin gives Sloane a
false computer program instead of the one which the CIA recieved from the real
Schiller. The false one also has a bug attached to slowly leak information off
the SD-6 server and to the CIA. Sloane asks Kelvin about the location of the
inhaler-vaccine, something Kelvin knows nothing about.
Sydney recognises that her cover would be blown if Kelvin doesn’t tell Sloane
the location of the inhaler, so she asks Jack for help. They find out from the
real Schiller that it is in a plant in Badenweiler, Germany. Jack helps Sloane
to ‘persuade’ Kelvin/Schiller to tell the truth, while simultaneously giving him
the location. Kelvin then persuasively gives in and admits out loud (Sloane is
listening) that it is in Badenweiler.
Sydney and Dixon are sent to Badenweiler to retrieve the inhaler and destroy the
plant. Before they leave, however, Sydney learns from Vaughn that Jack could
also be working for the FBI, leading Sydney to wonder where her father’s
allegiances lie. At Badenweiler, Vaughn has a CIA team rendezvous with Sydney
inside the plant to switch the real inhaler for a false one and disable the
explosives to save the contents of the building. Once Sydney meets up with
Dixon, he detonates the bomb. Of course, nothing happens. However, Dixon has
come prepared with a second detonator device that Sydney was unaware of, and
blows up the building--before the CIA team has a chance to escape...

Best Quote:
1. -Marshall: This is pretty incredible. Business card. Something you might,
you know, hand out. Like, for instance, ‘Hello, I'm a Rhine Com net supervisor,
how are you?’ In German, of course. Because English would probably give you
away. But the genius, the achievement, is this. Even Sony would be like, ‘Well,
Marshall, this is pretty cool.’
